What happened to make you want to do this? Tell us your origin story?
Growing up, my mom's dream when she came to Canada was to open up a family bakery, but it became harder to accomplish having to raise myself and my siblings so close in age and with my dad working in finance with very long days. My parents raised me to want to become my own boss one day and they taught me to bake and inspired me to be creative. From the age I was legal to work I told myself one day I would be my own boss and take care of my family. What started off as a hobby based on my mom's teachings evolved into an at home bakery to finally having a storefront.
Has anything changed since you started? Have you achieved some of your goals or has something happening in the world to make you want to work even harder?
Yes, having my firstborn son. Spending every second with him and seeing how fast he is growing already makes me want to work a million times harder. I want to cherish and share every moment and build the once in a lifetime memories along with continuing to flourish my little family.
How do you think being a woman of colour has impacted your journey? Just being able to inspire other women of colour to pursue whatever their passion is with endless possibilities.
Have you had a remarkable breakthrough or a win that you would like to share with our readers? We all love hearing success stories! Tell us yours! Since we've opened at Bramalea City Centre, there has been plenty of interest from investors and the franchise side of the business. They have reached out to us over and over again and now we are in the process of franchising.
