Tell us a little about Queenfidence. What is it about?
My cosmetics brand is about empowering women through beauty. Our motto is ''Unveil The Queen in You''. My passion is to inspire women to be confident and know who they are.
What is the change that you would like to bring to the world?
I would love for women all around the world to know that they are beautiful inside and out. I would love them to know that they are worth it no matter what they have been through. I want to help people to be confident in who they are and never let their past define who they are.
What drove you to start Queenfidence?
From my personal experiences are where it all began. A few years ago I used to not believe in myself. I used to be affected by the negative things that people would say about me. I became addicted to makeup. I used it to cover up what I was going through and to cover my flaws. I realised that other women also do the same thing. I wanted to use makeup to empower women to love themselves from the inside. Makeup is a bonus. My brand is not only about enhancing the beauty on the outside but also on the inside.

Has anything changed since you started? What drives you to strive for more?
It's still a process. Every time I see someone wearing my lipstick it makes me so happy. I didn't think I would be where I am right now 6 years ago. I received so much support from the public and the media. I see a lot of people wanting to be part of my dream and that inspires me. What drives me is my desire to build awareness of our brand and the message we carry.

How do you think being a woman of colour has impacted your journey?
I find that in this industry you have to be aggressive. I have been rejected on some occasions just because I am a woman of colour. I face barriers but the positive outcomes have outweighed them. The barriers give me the drive to push through and represent women of color. I choose to focus on what I can do and let go of the negative.
Have you had a remarkable breakthrough or a win that you would like to share with our readers? We all love hearing success stories! Tell us yours!
My breakthrough was definitely the launch. It was around Christmas. It was amazing the support I received from the public. God was with me. The constant positive feedback I receive from people is just a beautiful thing. I also got a full 2 page story in the local newspaper which was also really amazing. Meeting other entrepreneurs has been great because I get to learn from other women as well.
