“Our bras mean nothing if Black women aren't alive to wear them.”
- Chantal / Founder of Love & Nudes
Black women face a 40% higher death rate of breast cancer than non-racialized women. But nothing exists to help Black women identify the symptoms on darker skin tones – until now.
The three main symptoms
PEAU D’ORANGE
Meaning “orange peel” in French, we’ve re-created the symptomatic skin texture by casting a silicone mould so you can feel inflammatory breast cancer’s dimpling.
LUMPS
These 3D-printed lumps are situated exactly where you’d find them on your own breast. As hard as a pea and bumpy like a kaffir lime, both lumps are true to life in size and shape.
DISCOLOURATION
Guided by a leading breast surgical oncologist and a world renown makeup artist, the collection finally illustrates what breast cancer discolouration looks like on a range of racialized skin tones.
Lower the screening age
In most Canadian provinces, the screening age is 50. But most Black women present with cancer at age 40. Help us save lives by signing this petition to lower the screening age.
